Aristeidis Lappas
Gift of the Moon Crab

September 5, 2024–November 30, 2024
Kunstverein Ludwigshafen, Germany

The Breeder is pleased to announce Aristeidis Lappas first solo museum exhibition taking place in Kunstverein Ludwigshafen from September 2024 until November 2024.

Aristeidis Lappas’ works appeal to our senses: his works are for touching, smelling or hearing. His multisensory working techniques allow him to convey the narrative of the Gift of the Moon Crab beyond mere viewing, to involve each of us.

By combining a multitude of perceptions, Lappas challenges the isolation of the senses within artistic media to go beyond visual representation. The artist consciously engages with Greek topoi and artistic techniques, transferring familiar narratives into a contemporary visual language.

The exhibition is the first in a new format: ASSEMBLY is a joint production with Karen Bergman, Assistant Director of Interpretation and Access at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. It consists of a changing program of solo exhibitions that exclusively show new productions by young artists. The only requirement for the new productions is a targeted focus on inclusion of visitors with different needs, especially people with sensory and physical impairments.
