The Breeder ♟ presents Angelo Plessas’ in situ neon installation ☮ Extropic Optimisms ☯ at the façade of the ◰ gallery ♜ on Iasonos st, as part of The Breeder Skin project that is taken on by a different ◩ artist every year ∞
◘ Extropic Optimisms refers ◐ to symbols ♆ inspired from the iconography of Ancient Greece ☗ and ⟒ Mesopotamia ♝ but also from the familiarized symbols ↺ of internet culture ☈. In today’s hyper-connected ✆ reality ☌ a new ⚗ techno-paganist  iconography is emerging and is spreading mainly through ✄ copy paste Unicode characters and Emoticons _ .
▣ Extropic Optimisms is ☘ a spontaneous narration of human ₪ history ✍ It consists of anthropomorphic ꂧ figures ☻ flying creatures, animals ♞ symbols relating to primitive phenomena like birth ⚲ fertility ✿ catharsis ☨ but also more contemporary experiences like connectivity ♺ communication ⟿ physical rebirth ☍ and creativity ✍
✔ Extropic Optimisms is an energy ☯ symbol, a talisman that attracts positive vibes ◈ cyber and non. It will bring us new friends ⚢ on instagram and facebook, it will discourage hackers ☢ multiple our likes ♥ and retweets ⇲ and will exorcize ☥ bad connections.

♚ Angelo Plessas (Greek ⚑ Italian) lives and works in ✈ Athens. He is the founder and curator of The ☽ Eternal Internet Brother/Sisterhood ⚧ , a collaborative annual residency/ summit/ ⛺ project realized in different parts ☀ of the world. Plessas is the winner of the DESTE Prize ♟ 2015.
