Talk: Dancing in a Quiet Storm
September 24, 2026–September 24, 2026Triennale Milano
A conversation dedicated to Dancing in a Quiet Storm, a new project by Albanian artist Iva Lulashi developed in dialogue with A Quiet Storm, the EP by Colombian producer DFRA, released by the Berlin-based label Ascension on Wax.
During the event, the artist retraces the origins of the project, which began with Stay, a painting depicting two young women who appear to be dancing together but, on closer inspection, could just as easily be running away. Starting from this work, Lulashi selected twenty images from her personal archive, each capturing the moment immediately before or after an intimate gesture. Printed on 12-inch canvases, in reference to the format of vinyl records, the images were entrusted to eight artists active within Milan’s contemporary art scene and invited to reinterpret them: Andreas Zampella, Aronne Pleuteri, Jacopo Valentini, Margaux Bricler, Martina Cassatella, Matteo Capriotti, Nuvola Camera and Pietro Catarinella.
The works produced as part of the project will be presented during the event alongside a video by Davide Gatti. The evening will conclude with a DJ set by Ascension on Wax.
