Chrysanne Stathacos
Art Basel Kabinett
June 19, 2025–June 22, 2025Messe Basel, Messeplatz 10, 4058 Basel
The Breeder presents a solo exhibition of Chrysanne Stathacos (b. 1951) for the Kabinett sector, showcasing the artist’s deeply spiritual and feminist practice. A radical voice of her time, Stathacos has continuously pushed boundaries with her multidisciplinary work, blending painting, installation, and performance to explore themes of loss, body politics, and transformation. With a strong institutional presence worldwide, she integrates materials like roses, hair, and ivy into works that evoke cycles of decay and renewal. The presentation features key pieces, including a 1990s Condom Mandala painting, intricate Rose Petal drawings, a scroll piece, and a floral mandala installation, creating a spacefor contemplation and empowerment.
