Kostis Velonis lives and works in Athens. He holds a PhD from the Department of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.), an MRes in Humanities and Cultural Studies from the London Consortium (Birkbeck College, ICA, AA, Tate), and studied Arts Plastiques/Esthétiques at Université Paris 8 (D.E.A). Velonis’ work explores the comic, often awkward condition of the object as a projection of human narratives. Through allegories of everyday life, he considers how clumsiness, error, and failed intentions can be morally revealing. His practice is grounded in the gap between daydreaming and the sobering realities that deflate it—offering a space where fantasy stumbles, but still tries to persist.
