Theo Triantafyllidis
Frieze London Artist Award 2026
October 14, 2026–October 18, 2026London, UK
Frieze named Athens-based artist Theo Triantafyllidis as the recipient of the 2026 Frieze London Artist Award, co-commissioned and co-produced with Forma and, for the first time, in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture. The artwork will be on display at Frieze London, taking place at The Regent’s Park from 14–18 October 2026.
For Athens-based artist Theo Triantafyllidis, the digital world is a space for coming together. His Feral Metaverse (Spider) (2026), commissioned for the Frieze London Artist Award 2026, invites visitors to the fair to climb on to a giant spider and enter a shared virtual world.
Part sculpture, part videogame and part social experiment, the work extends Triantafyllidis’s ongoing ‘Feral Metaverse’ project, rooted in a thought experiment around the internet commons. For Frieze London, he brings together the physical and virtual worlds, experimenting with Google AI technologies to create new physical sculptural material, digital game environments and new conditions for connection.
The Frieze London Artist Award is co-commissioned and co-produced with Forma, and is in collaboration with and sponsored by Google Arts & Culture.
